When timing is everything

Tactical skills can take you to some distance in the world of negotiation, but ultimately you need strategic planning to maximize opportunities.

When timing is everything
The Gap Partnership

Building on advanced negotiation skills, we have set out to break down the barriers and thinking parameters which can limit the potential of negotiation.

This workshop is highly practical, providing a range of innovative and creative approaches to strategic negotiations. The workshop content spans nine strategic models which provide a basis for managing all types of negotiations.

Electronic Strategy Planner

advanced strategic processes to help negotiators guide the other party to where they want them to be

We use a range of approaches to ensure the experience is penetrating, memorable and delivers a significant shift in performance. We will introduce advanced strategic processes to help negotiators guide the other party to where they want them to be. We demonstrate how to use potential problem analysis as part of calculating and plotting contingency plans and introduce the concept of risk management through understanding the balance of power between the two parties. Attendees will also use advanced tactical planning and monitoring tools (ETP) in helping identify and track specific variables throughout negotiations, whilst creative and analytical thinking develops as attendees juggle and re-engineer possibilities.

Attendees are licensed to use the ESP tool (Electronic Strategy Planner) provided as part of the workshop which they are coached through as part of developing their own negotiation strategy.

Potential problem analysis, triggers, responses, contingency planning, stakeholder management, sequencing strategies, balance of power analysis and other components of strategy development are worked through, allowing attendees to create a detailed action plan, specifying all the tasks for all involved throughout the course of the negotiation.
